“Training” is one of the most frequently searched keywords on the
Internet. And today, training comes in far more flavors, formats and
formulation than Baskin-Robbins’ ice cream.
The Corporate Training world is dominated by Leadership Training and
Management Training programs. Skill-specific training programs, aimed at
both corporate workers and independent professionals, are geared to
provide training on a broad spectrum of topics from foreign language
training to software skills training. There’s even training on how to
assess and modify your behavior to get along better with others, at work
and at home.
This broad spectrum of professional and personal skills training comes
in a variety of formats. My friend Gary Craig’s Emotional Freedom
Techniques training (emofree.com) is based largely on video training. In
fact, his broad scale use of video training gives him the unique
privilege of taking a camera crew into his live training sessions to get
up close and personal with people who come on-stage to experience his
unique healing modality. They do not object to him filming these
extremely personal exchanges because so many of them have benefited from
his video training. They understand its value and support his desire to
continue using video training to expand his teaching.
Audio training is also very popular. It is often used in conjunction
with various training aids, such as exercises, models and written
training materials. The exceptional “Photo Reading” program by Paul
Sheele combines audio training and training aids with a written manual.
Together, they deliver an effective combined training approach that
teaches users how to read and retain entire books in mere minutes.
The most traditional format for corporate training, leadership training,
executive training and professional skills training is written training.
While this might sound dry, the way that today’s written training
programs are delivered goes far beyond the traditional textbook.
Miboso’s Personal Branding Training Tutorial was designed to
leverage all of the formats available.
This multi-format approach is utilized throughout our new self directed Authentic Personal Branding training program. Each training module has a video and audio training element, in addition to its written element. Check it out and then take our poll to tell us which form of training you prefer, video training, audio training or written training.
Knowing which training format allows YOU to learn fastest and with the greatest retention gives you a valuable compass that you can use to effectively navigate the ever growing world of training.
